Venting and Thermal Protection
Venting and thermal protection mats provide good electrical resistance and mechanical cushioning during normal operations whilst offering excellent fire and temperature resistance during a thermal event.
In the event of a cell venting, these materials shield adjacent modules, busbars and circuitry from the ejecta by channelling the vented gases away from healthy cells.
In their thinnest configuration, these protection materials have the appropriate flexibility to be wrapped around wires, cables and busbars.
