PTFE Film Tapes

Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) is a highly specialized polymer and high-performance material with exceptional temperature resistance and anti-stick properties.

It is a go-to product for applications within industrial, chemical, electrical, aerospace or automotive markets, which require high-temperature stability and durability.

Due to its low friction coefficient (non-stick property) it is a great option for applications within seals, bearings and gaskets that require smooth motion. Because of these benefits, it is also often utilized as a release surface in composite molding and heat-sealing applications.

Coupled with a silicone adhesive system, our PTFE tapes are conformable, have high tensile strength and great chemical resistance. They are ideal for applications that have high exposure to chemicals, acids or solvents. PTFE can improve production efficiencies in a variety of applications such as within wire and cable insulation as well as electrical insulation.

Features & Benefits

  • Anti-stick properties

Great option for applications that require easy release and lack of adhesive residue, such as composite molding, packaging equipment and heat sealing

  • High tensile strength

Engineered for durability, PTFE tapes offer high tensile strength to improve production efficiency for wire and cable insulation in aerospace power cable and electrical insulation, supporting fast wrapping speeds

  • Wide operating temperature range

Our PTFE tapes perform in service temperatures ranging from -73°C to +260°C (-100°F to +500°F), making them extremely reliable within applications where temperature varies to the extremes. These tapes have consistent performance in high-temperature applications

  • Premium PTFE options

From high modulus to extruded and skived, our team provides options that allow you to take advantage of the different characteristics and formats of PTFE tape in specific applications. Our team can customize product formulations to ensure it meets specific customer requirements and ensures optimal performance and reliability

  • What if you need an alternative to PTFE?

The Tape Solutions team is actively working on projects to make alternatives to PTFE. Our global R&D team has developed a way to reduce the coefficient of friction for products like UHMW to allow for similar functionality. In low to moderate-temperature range applications, UHMW serves as a versatile solution for industries requiring reliable protection against wear, impact, and chemical exposure
