Norseal® PVC Automotive Foam Tape Certified to GMW 17408 Gasket Specification

Saint-Gobain Tape Solutions is proud to highlight our recent Norseal® PVC Automotive Foam Tape Certifications to the GMW 17408 Gasket Specification. This standard describes the requirements of flexible expanded rubber and rubber-like materials to be used as air and dust seals or water seals and gaskets. These materials may also be used as isolators, rattle protection, covers for gaps and other suitable applications. These materials are typically die cut or slit to width from master logs, and may have pressure sensitive adhesive applied to one (1) side.

Ultra-Soft Norseal LA Foam: GMW 17408 Specification Type I, Class 2
Extra-Soft Norseal L Foam: GMW 17408 Specification Type II, Class 2
Soft Norseal A Foam: GMW 17408 Specification Type III, Class 2
Medium-Grade Norseal B Foam: GMW 17408 Specification Type IV, Class 2
Firm, Abrasion Resistant Norseal C Foam: Type V, Class 2

With the expanded product listing (covering from a Type I to V), you now have choices in selecting the most appropriate product for the application requirements. Additionally, Norseal LA Foam is now recognized to the Class 2 Rating - making it one of the softest foams on the market still capable of maintaining a water seal property.
