Component Insulation and Coverlay Tapes for Flexible Heaters
In flexible heaters, protecting resistive circuits inside of heaters and electrical insulation protection is essential for safe and long-lasting performance. Specially designed pressure sensitive adhesive (PSA) tapes used as insulation and coverlay on flexible heaters provide a placement method that balances dielectric and heat transfer requirements while the polyimide substrate ensures resistance against chemicals and oil. These strong and flexible tapes combine consistent performance in extreme temperature conditions both on the low and high end, with high conformability and low outgassing, to add additional protection of people and components in demanding applications such as aerospace.
Polyimide tapes
Our UL 510 recognized Polyimide Tapes offer a full range of options for use in flex heater construction. Tapes made with Dupont Kapton® Polyimide Film and silicone adhesive are considered as premium grade tapes with highest functionality in balancing dielectric and heat transfer requirements. Covering a full thickness range, they are designed to maximize conformability and heat transfer through the flex heater while maintaining strong adhesion for flex heaters used up to 500°F for extended periods of time.

With adhesive coated on each side, double-coated Polyimide Tapes facilitate flex heater construction in making the need for transfer tape for placement obsolete. They come with a protective liner to ensure adhesion performance is preserved until use, are thin and conformable for fast and efficient heat transfer.
