Winner of the Saint-Gobain® Innovation Awards 2023
We are proud that a collaborative project between Saint-Gobain HKO and Saint-Gobain Tape Solutions won the 2023 Saint-Gobain Innovation Awards in the New Product/Solution Development category. In this category, innovations that have led to the development of new solutions and new technological products, and encouraged their adoption in growing markets, were celebrated. Initiated by Saint-Gobain Tape Solution team members, a new product for thermal insulation of EV battery packs was developed for a leading German automotive OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturers). This first impressed the premium automotive customer while the collaboration between both business units convinced the panel of judges as for the group, innovation is not only associated with R&D (Research & Development). People are at the heart of innovation and our ambition is to engage all employees in a Group-wide innovation culture – and this initiative is an excellent example of realizing these ambitions.
In combining the know-how and experience of different business units and R&D capabilities, we were able to create a new solution for the customer in very short development time that is unique in the world and brings thermal management and safety of EV batteries to a new level.
Ulrich Stude, Business Development Manager Saint-Gobain HKO & Manfred Becker, EV Technical Sales Leader for DACH and Scandinavia, Saint-Gobain Tape Solutions
